From the 1989 supplement: Chapter I, Commander, Mission and Organization: The 807th Medical Brigade is one of nine Major United States Army Commands (MUSARC) assigned to Fifth U.S. Army. It functions as a distinct USAR headquarters and as part of the chain of command. The brigade staff works closely and effectively with their counterparts at Fifth Army in support of the "Total Army" concept.
