From 1991 supplement: Chapter I. Commander, Mission, and Organization: Mission: To command, recruit, retain, and train US Army Reserve (USAR) assigned units and soldiers in Tennessee and Kentucky. The ARCOM provides specified support for designated units within the geographical areas previously mentioned and promotes the efficient and effective use of allocated resources. The ARCOM directs all assigned and attached units in planning for mobilization and deployment by ensuring that mobilization / deployment operations plans are complete, current, and appropriate for each unit. The ARCOM plans and, on order, executes Land Defense of the Continental United States (CONUS) within the Southern Defense Command. From 1987 supplement: Introduction: The 125th United States Army Reserve Command consists of 73 separate troop program units, organized into seven major subordinate commands (MSCs) and six direct-reporting units (DRUs), including five U.S. Army Reserve Forces Schools (USARFSs).
