From the 1988 supplement: The mission of 2d Support Command (Corps) is to provide specialized Combat Service Support to VII Corps units. The type support provided includes supply, direct and general support maintenance, for high technology equipment, as well as older equipment, and limited field service (laundry, bath, decontamination). In addition to conducting day to day operations, the command prepares wartime plans for combat service support, rear area security, area damage control, civil military cooperation, and nuclear biological chemical operations.

Annual History Collection - Unit 2d Corps Support Command (COSCOM) previously known as 2d Support Command (Corps) or SUPCOM. The 2d SUPCOM was re-designated the 2d COSCOM during 1988.
