From 1975 annual supplement; Appendix I (page 178): 1. This letter is my final report to you on the status of the reorganized 1st Support Brigade, problems encountered, challenges remaining, and recommendations for the future. 4. One of our most important people - oriented programs is to divest 1st Support Brigade of all vestiges of discrimination and prejudice due to race, religion, sex, national origin, or any other unwarranted reason. This mission was recently reaffirmed in a Brigade operations order. Command emphasis must continue in educating our subordinate commanders that we have a real problem and that the solution demands our positive involvement. One of the major tools has been the Brigade Affirmative Action Panel. The panel is composed of the principal members of the staff and chaired by the commander. Those areas such as promotions, awards, discharges, courts martial, and Article 15's must be reviewed by the commander on a periodic basis and trends should be observed.
