This monograph describes the lines of communications that the U.S. Army planned, established, and operated in Europa over a 50-year period ending in 1967. The study covers the strategic, political, technical, logistic problems encountered and the solutions applied in each instance. At a time when the U.S. Army has to rethink its logistic concepts and requirements, this study might offer useful experiences factors to planners and operators.
