Interviewers: Dr. Walton Moody and Dr. Andrew Butrica. Mr. Augustine served as Assistant Secretary for R&D and Under Secretary of the Army. He was instrumental in the prototyping program of XM-1, Blackhawk, Apache and the B-2 stealth bomber. Competition of prototyping was supported by the Defense Science Board, see Report of the Acquisition Cycle Task Force, 1977 Summer Study. Richard Delauer, Under Secretary of Defense (Researching and Engineering), 1981-1984 support the projects. Mr. Augustine worked for John S. Foster, Director of Defense Research and Engineering and Secretary Robert McNamara.
