Brigadier General (Ret) Robert W. Kenny, AUS published a manuscript on the history of the Rhode Island National Guard. General Kenny enlisted in Battery A, 103d Field Artillery in 1922 when he was an undergraduate at Brown University. He served continuously in the 103d Field Artillery and later in other battalions of the 43d Division Artillery throughout World War II. He commanded the 169th Field Artillery Battalion upon the deactivation of the Division in October, 1945. During the Korean War, General Kenny served in the G-2 Section, Headquarters, USA Forces in Germany. At the time of his retirement he commanded the 76th Division, USAR.
