In the eighteenth century, no man was more famous or more celebrated than the castrato Carlo Broschi, commonly known as Farinelli. The films tells the story of the world-famous opera singer, who was castrated during childhood to preserve his voice. Together with his brother Riccardo, a composer, they travel Europe. They are inseparable, seducing audiences both on and off the stage, while sharing everything, including lovers, until rivalry and obsession threaten to tear them apart.
