This monograph tells a little-known story of American forces in China right after World War II. It describes the recruiting, organization, and use of foreign personnel to replace American personnel as auxiliary military police on Army bases in China, 1946-47. These personnel included Indian Sikhs, Russians and French, all former members of police or military forces who served in China before and during World War II. .
