Numerous personalities have written accounts of the engagements in the West. These reports, taken as a whole, give an almost complete picture of the events which actually took place. The following account, therefore, is not meant to furnish any details about the engagements, but rather is restricted to the following points: a. summary regarding all combat areas in general; b. comments on the problems which faced A Gp B in these combat areas; c. highlights of my activity as First General Staff Officer of the Army Group; and d. a short picture concerning the personality of Fldm Model, Commander of a Gp B at that time.
