This directory is a listing of public and private agencies and private individuals that provide historical analysis to the Army. It is designed as a quick and ready reference for project officers or staff officers interested in determining who the experts are in areas of interest to policy and decision makers. The listings do not include those agencies which are purely concerned with the research and development or the evaluation of hardware. For the purposes of this directory, historical analysis is that portion of the historical process which focuses upon a pragmatic interpretation to the recent past. It emphasizes the impact of human events upon current issues. Necessarily this approach includes descriptions of events, interpretations of causes, and judgments on results."-- Introduction.
