Operation Show Low was conducted 5 March 1968 to 11 March 1968 approximately 35 kilometers northwest of the 11th Infantry Brigade headquarters at Duc Pho and 14 kilometers to the west of Quang Ngai City, vicinity of the "horseshoe" in the Tra Khue river. The purpose of the operation was to search out and destroy Viet Cong sapper, main and local force units believed to be staging in the "horseshoe" area for an attack on Quang Ngai City, during the second phase of the Tet Offensive.
