The United Nations Command has achieved success in meeting the challenge of using military effort to drive back aggressors from trying to overrun a peaceful people. The UN established the Korean Civil Assistance and Economic Aid Program to meet the magnitude of problems and the extent of need over the South Korean nation. The primary purpose of the report is to provide a monthly summation, with pertinent statistics and evaluations of the activities undertaken and the progress made. This document describes the political crisis in South Korea, governmental and political affairs (legal and public safety, ROK and UN finance), economic affairs (industry, mining, commercial imports/exports, construction, public utilities, labor, private finance, marine products, agriculture and forestry), public health and welfare (disease, sanitation, medical facilities/supplies, public welfare, relief program, population), civil information and education, and the United Nations supply program.
