27 hour course focuses on joint fire planning at the corps level. The course builds on the tactical knowledge obtained in the core courses (Electronic Warfare [EW], theater air, Supression of Enemy Air Defense [SEAD], Army Air Space Command and Control [A2C2]). The course addresses the fire support system, the targeting process, electronic warfare operations, deep fire planning operations, theater air, and fire planning in close and rear tactical operations. The course discusses the doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures of joint fire planning as they apply to various corps tactical operations. Students will apply fire planning doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures during practical exercises to synchronize and integrate joint fires with the tactical operations. in addition each student battle staff group will develop a concept of fire support, a fire support annex, and selected targeting products to support a corps tactical plan. Course materials inclue: Text; TC 6-71 Fire support handbook for the maneuver commander; FM 6-21 Tactics techniques, and procedures for field artillery target acquisition; FM 6-20-2 Tactics, techniques, and procedures for corps artillery, division artillery. and field artillery brigade headquarters; FM 90-15 J-SEAD, multi-service procedures for the joint supression of enemy air defenses; FM 100-103-2 TAGS multiservice procedures for the theater air-ground system.
