This subcourse examines NATO in general and Allied Command Europe in particular. Course content includes a discussion of the NATO political and military structure, as well as the NATO treaty. Included also is a detailed discussion of the roles, areas of responsibility, threat, forces available, operational considerations, and problems of the three major subordinate commands of Allied Command Europe. Joint amphibious operations, as possible NATO options are included.
