This subcourse provides an overview of the evaluation of joint doctrine within the US Armed Forces, presents current doctrine for joint forces and operations, and outlines the current organization for Unified Direction of the Armed Forces. The student is introduced to the Joint Operations Planning System (JOPS) and related Fundamentals of Joint Planning as a prelude to subsequentjoint instruction during the remainder of the academic year.
