Subcourse encompasses a general coverage of offensive and defensive operations. Short lecture-conference instruction on offensive and defensive operations introduces each block of instruction. Areas of study include tactical terminology, fundamentals of modern combat operations, forms of maneuver, and graphic techniques. Each student will apply the skills of the tactician in practical exercises by developing commander's concepts, schemes of maneuver, and task organizations. Practical work on drawing operational graphics to support a concept or plan will challenge each student to think tactically. Written expression of concepts will be exercised to allow students to practice using military technology.
