Access is restricted. Subcourse provides the basic conceptual and analytical skills necessary for assignments involving the development of national security policy and military policy. This subcourse provides the link between the military services and their function as a part of the defense establishment in national and international level policymaking. The subcourse will provide the student an analytical model to use in examining national level problems, emphasis is placed on US defense planning based on specific regional assessments. Special attention is paid to US interests, commitments, and defense obligations in Northeast Asia focusing on Korea as well as major and minor actors in this particular region.
