This individual development elective examines the role of operations research/systems analysis (ORSA) in the military decisionmaking process. Instruction includes selected quantitative techniques to solve command and staff problems. Techniques include set theory, probability, statistics, decision theory, inventory analysis, corvus spreadsheets, game theory and network analysis. A military case study develops insight into the application of these quantitative methods. The course prepares students to make quantitative assessments.
