This course is a mandatory course for students enrolled in th CGSC Army Strategist Program. The course examines theoretical and operational (United States) strategic planning considerations. Students are introduced to US nuclear strategy and arms control negotiations and agreements; are briefed on conventional and strategic nuclear war fighting capabilities; and are given the opportunity to research, analyze, and discuss current US strategic planning guidance and US military strategy presented in national planning documents. Materials include readings on national security and JCS MOP 84, Joint strategic Planning System.
