This individual development course includes the geographic, historical, cultural, political, and economic factors which have shaped modern Korea; the Northeast Asian strategic setting; the North Korean threat; the Combined Forces Command and United Nations Command organization, mission, and command relationships; the organization and capabilities of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces; the location, organization, and missions of major US units in Korea; the US security assistance program for Korea; and information regarding specific assignments and living conditions in Korea.
