This individual development course examines the perspectives of US allies on the problems of security in their part of the world. The specific focus will be on the factors considered in the formation of the defense policies of Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Federal Republic of Germany, Japan, Korea, and the United Kingdom. In addition, consideration will be given to the historical roots of the global competition between the United States and the USSR and the security problems of the Eastern Mediterranean region.
