MAJ Jon Casey served as the battalion operations officer (S4) and company commander with 3/67 Armor Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division in Baqubah, Iraq during 2003 and 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). In this March 2011 interview, MAJ Casey discusses his reasons for joining the Army and choosing the Armor branch, his role in the initial invasion into Iraq and the change of plans when Turkey wouldn't allow the US to enter through their border, and the inadequacies of the pre-deployment training and how they worked to overcome them.
