Understand the lessons learned, during Pilipino Insurgents and Woodrow Wilson Intervention, and how our understandings play a vital part in the success of countering insurgency. How we handle the population has a major role in combating insurgents and continuities of insurgencies over time and in a myriad of cultural, political, and geographical environments. This will not produce an ideal solution to small wars in the future; the experiences can help counter insurgents as the struggle to win the Global War on Terrorism continues. We will show that the local population plays an important part in the conquering of counterinsurgency. The battlefield is constantly changing from linear to contiguous, so the needs to counter insurgent groups that influence the populace are greater now than ever before in our history.
