This volume dealing with United States equipment, is a sequel to the British and German sections of the Air Recognition Manual (A/5981). Its intention is to provide interpreters with information and ground and air photographs of United States vehicles and equipment which may be seen from the air during operations. Certain items of equipment, which are mentioned in the Index, have already been included in the British section. They are not republished in this section. The manual is compiled in the form of a loose leaf stamp album. It is hoped to distribute new information and photographs as they become available, and holders of the manual will make their own additions and amendments. Capital letters have been used in the empty spaces on the photographic pages to facilitate the addition of amendments in the correct places. Good air photographs of new equipment would be gratefully received by Air 4, War Office, for inclusion in future additions to the Manual.
