The Annual Report of Medical Activities has been prepared in accordance with instructions outlined in SR 40-1005-5 dated 14 April 1954. This report contains only such material as can be used by The Surgeon General's Office in recommending changes to plans, policies, organization, equipment and training requirements within the Medical Service. This report covers the Center Headquarters and all components attached or assigned. The components include Brooke Army Hospital, Medical Field Service School, Fourth Army Area Medical Laboratory, Hospital Management Research Unit, Central Dental Laboratory, and Surgical Research Unit. Information regarding activities of the Medical Field Service School are located throughout the report.
