"This study develops a container distribution system for the Army in the field. The system provides for direct and expeditious delivery of containerized materiel to the lowest practicable echelon. The study analyzes and documents current and proposed uses of containers, and develops concepts and doctrine for the use of containers to support the Army in an oversea theater during the period 1972-1982. Necessary data are developed to provide a basis for modification of current supply and transportation organizations. Materiel requirements of the system are determined for materials handling equipment, transport equipment, and a family of military containers."
