The purpose of this paper is to discuss how the United States military utilized full spectrum operation at the battle of Vera Cruz, Mexico. To argue that this was the only tactic that would have worked for a campaign of this type. The United States had experimented with this concept in other theaters and had minimal success. I would argue that if the United States employed any other doctrine to this battle, more lives would have been lost (on both sides), out political goals would not have been met, and Mexico would have declared war on the U.S.
