Part two of the interview with Major Brian Beckno focuses on his March to June 2003 experiences in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) as the commander of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry, part of 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, and then his subsequent command of the division's Qayyarah West, Iraq-based Air Assault School. He begins by discussing his battalion responsibility during the ground invasion phase of OIF to secure FARP Shell, then moves on to cover subsequent attacks into Al Hillah, attacks into and securing and patrolling in Baghdad, and finally the securing of Tall Afar, where he ultimately conducted his change of command. Beckno then went back to Fort Campbell, took command of the 101st's Air Assault School and, by September 2003, was back in Iraq and in charge of the first Air Assault School to be established in a foreign country since Vietnam.
