This is a set in Indonesian independence war, story about Nagabonar, a pickpocket who has seized the opportunity to declare himself a general in the freedom forces in North Sumatera during the chaos at the end of the Japanese occupation in 1945, as the Dutch attempted to reassert their control over the area.
